Exam :

              - The Comprehensive Breast Screening

Infrared thermography is best known for breast screening and is one of its highest and best uses.

Because of the nature of the development of breast disease, and the fact that a tumor in the breast is slow growing taking 8-10 years to mature into a visible growth on mammograms, thermal imaging is ideal in detecting the highly visible vascular activity that facilitates tumor growth, even in its microscopic stages.

  • Breast Thermography: detects physiologic changes in the breast tissue that correlate with cancer.  While breast cancer itself can only be diagnosed by microscopic examination of tissue by a pathologist, thermography shows the earliest detections of abnormal cells, 8 to 10 years earlier than a standard Mammogram.
  • Treatment for breast cancer can be monitored with thermography without exposing the body to unnecessary radiation.

Persons young or old, who desire a risk free & painless procedure to screen for breast cancer, is a candidate for Thermography

Exam :

              -The Head & Neck

  • Lymphatic Activity: known for its function of cleansing and recycling the blood; the activity around the lymphatic system is highly valuable information, and easily observed.
  • Thyroid Patterns: Subtle cold or warm patterns over the area of the thyroid, can alert the practitioner to evolving gland dysfunction.
  • Sinus Conditions: Patterns can be seen in the forehead; the ethmoid sinuses with drainage patterns into the lymphatic pathways.
  • Dental Pathology: Signs of Inflammatory conditions deep inside the gums and peri-oral regions, also present with confirming drainage patterns.
  • Carotid Artery Health:Inflammation in the carotid artery is now considered by cardiologists to be a cardio vascular disease itself. There is no other way to detect this early indication of evolving cardiovascular disease.

Exam :

              - Regional Scans

Any region of the body can be scanned as a separate examination. This includes the Arms & Hands, Legs & Feet, etc... Thermography can detect phlebitis and PAD before clot and atherosclerotic plaque formation, as well as the origins of pain.

Exam :

             - The Half Body Health Screening

The Half Body Health Screening- is actually several exams combined.  This exam covers all vital organs including the colon.

  • The Comprehensive Breast Screening Exam
  • The Head & Neck Exam
  • Cardiovascular Screening Exam
  • Entire Spinal Exam - Standing
  • Testicular Cancer Screening

This study is preferred and requested by individuals with concerns in the Abdominal, Bladder, Gynecological and Lower Back areas.   Colon, Liver, Digestive Disorders, IGS, Colitis, Endometriosis.

Exam :

           -The Whole Body Screening -

Partial or whole-body thermography is an excellent tool in sports medicine and pain management because it can map inflammation from neurologic or musculoskeletal dysfunction.

  • It can help determine the origin of pain; allowing for prompt and more effective treatment to be initiated, so that full blown, difficult to manage chronic disability, may be averted.

  • X-rays, ultrasound, and MRIs are all tests that provide information on the structures found within the body. Thermography is the only imaging technology at this time that is capable of showing physiological changes and metabolic processes.  Thermography does not expose patients to radiation or toxic injections, is painless, and there is nothing to prompt claustrophobic feelings.

  • The Full Body Thermogram covers the whole body, from the top of the head, too and including the soles of the feet, for a total of 28 images.

Thermography is used for early detecting and monitoring of many conditions... among them are :

  • Vein Conditions - deep vein thrombosis, for example.
  • Peripheral Artery Disease
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Skin Cancer
  • Cancers of all Types
  • Arthritis
  • Repetitive Strain Injuries
  • Carpel Tunnel Syndrome
  • Headache/Sinus Pain
  • Neck and Back Problems
  • Chronic Lower Back Pain
  • Referred Pain
  • Hairline Fractures
  • Whiplash
  • Chronic Nerve Injury

Sports Injuries

  • Stress fractures, shin splints, patellofemoral disorders, shoulder impingement, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, Osgood Schlatter's disease, epicondylitis, nerve entrapments, ankle injuries.
  • Thermography is a diagnostic tool in the differential diagnosis of neuromusculoskeletal injuries... commonly; foot and ankle, knee, shoulder, and lumbar and cervical spine.
  • Clinical Thermography facilitates a good prognosis for return to participation or competition.

Clinical Thermography has been recognized as a viable diagnostic tool since 1987 by the AMA council on scientific affairs, the ACA council on Diagnostic Imaging, the Congress of Neurosurgeons in 1988, and in 1990 by the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Thermography was recognized as valuable tool for breast cancer screening by the FDA in 1982.
